Job Description: Procurement Manager Company: NZDB Farmers Alliance Limited Industry: Group Company in Cold Chain, Import & Export (since 1952) Global Presence: Subsidiaries in Chile, Greece, South Africa, Turkey, Poland etc. Proposed Location: Hawke’s Bay Experience Required: 10–15 years Background & Expertise:- Academic / Professional Background: Agronomist with extensive knowledge of New Zealand’s apple industry, particularly in premium Gala apple–growing regions. Expertise: ●Strong hands-on experience in apple procurement directly from growers. ●In-depth understanding of cold chain management and post-harvest protocols. ●Proven experience in liaising with packhouses, exporters, and logistics providers. Responsibilities ●Carry out end-to-end operations for New Zealand entity. ●Procure apples directly from growers, ensuring quality consistency and traceability. ●Engage with packhouses on rental basis for fruit storage and packing. ●Oversee cold chain logistics, shipping schedules, and export dispatch operations. ●Build long-term grower relationships and establish supply chain partnerships. ●Report directly to the Additional Managing Director (India Head office). Location ●The candidate will ideally be based in New Zealand’s Gala apple–growing regions to stay close to growers and orchards. Key regions include: ●Hawke’s Bay (the largest and most renowned apple-growing region). Compensation ●Salary will be as per industry standards. ●Upto 20% hike on the candidate’s current salary will be offered. ●For an exceptional candidate, compensation will not be a limiting factor.
